Beginning a new process can always be confusing, particularly if you have little to no experience.
At first glance, UI/UX design may seem complex (screens, apps, websites, etc.) but it really is quite simple when you begin from the user’s point of view.
To begin your journey into UI/UX design, you begin by learning the way your users think. For example, you’ll learn about the reasons why people click on things & where they may encounter problems and how easy or hard different things are to use. This will allow you to build your foundation of UI/UX design.
Once you have some knowledge of the user thought process, you’ll begin using design tools like Figma or Adobe XD to create basic designs. Your designs won’t be perfect at this point—just basic layouts (or screen designs) or ideas.
Initially when you’re getting started with UI/UX design, it will seem very slow. Once again, you’ll look at others’ work and will feel as though you’re behind. This is totally normal.
The key here is to continue practicing. You can do this by attempting to redesign existing apps you’re using now, creating small projects or ultimately creating your own portfolio.
This is where you can take advantage of structured learning. For instance, with Motifo Academy, you are exposed to a step-by-step approach so you don’t just watch videos/tutorials but actually learn how to build skills.
You don’t need experience to start; you merely have to begin to gain experience.
